Subject: Deadline at Noon: A flaw in the script.
Subject: Deadline at Noon: A flaw in the script.
There is a flaw in the script. When a particular event is expected to happen at a certain time, and you travel 1200 (or was it 1250?) years backwards in time, there are another 1200 years before that particular event is expected to happen.
It is a somewhat sad experience to see the stouthearted Mr. Flash Gordon running about like a madman in trying to find the bomb in order to deactivate it when there are exactly 30 seconds plus — somewhat he has failed to comprehend – 1200 years before the bomb is set to explode. Not unexpectedly, Flash proves able to accomplish the mission when there are exactly 2 seconds plus 1200 years to go.

Spuzz, you need to watch the episode again. First it was 1200 years ago not 150, that may explain why Dale didn't know a whole lot about the goings on. And as far as the space time continuum...the "bomb" was the "slowest reacting fusion reaction" or something like that Dr. Zarkoft had seen. It took 1200 years to explode...or something like that..
I enjoyed the shots of post war Berlin even the 3 cops in the VW Bug. I'd like to have one of the vans the heroes carjacked in order to save the world.
Just giving you a hard time Spuzz...Thanks RevRoach for uploading the films !!

I did it this way because I also share this in Torrent form. On my website I wanted to be able to give people direct downloads as well, so we end up with all three shows from the vcd in one upload.
And if I see this page right, you do get them one at at time. No need for a bunch of differnt pages to look for. :)
Hope you enjoy these strange classics of tv.

Subject: yes yes YES!
3 episodes of Flash here... Why do the uploaders do this? Why can't we get them one at a time? Anyways...
1)Planet of Death: Flash and friends go to a planet where a scientist that has just come back tells of an idol with an evil eye that kills on contact with it's beam! Flash decides to go down there to investigate, because he thinks it's a lot of bunk, though WHY, when you think of all the other bunkery they've been going through on this shoe Flash refuses to believe this one is anyone's guess. Anyways, he forces the scientist to come along too, which was rather strange. But it's soon apparent why as we go along in the episode. Anyways the Idol with the eye is completely Wizard Of Oz material, and with a main bad guy that appears in the last 2 minutes of the episode! Somewhat amusing fun.
Deadline at Noon: Probably the most incoherent and unintentionally hilarious episode of them all, and therefore the most entertaining (and accessible). Something is blowing up planets! Dr Zarkov figures out that it was a clan of followers that have somehow put nuclear bombs on the planet 150 years ago, and now they are just blowing up! Anyways, they figure out the next one is going to blow up earth! They have to go dismantle it, but they have to go back 150 years! Why? Um, I think there was a reason, I forget now. They use their handy dandy time machine, to go back 150 years, which turns out to be 1955, the year the series was made! and after taking a tour of the world (and having Dale appear REALLY dumb as she is clueless about the existance of New York) and finally finding the bomb in Berlin (where the series was shot!) They go to find the bomb.. Did I tell you Flash CARJACKS someone? And we get a curious tour of post-war Berlin, rubble and everything. Anyways, Zarkov and Dale find the bomb, and after pushing Dale aside, Flash dismantles it. Oh, right, during all of this, there is sort of this mini-interrogation going on 150 years later in the spaceship where one of the people who planted the bomb is in, waiting for the bomb to be detonated. Of course, this curious scene wouldnt really HAVE taken place due to the time space continuim we all learned in Back To The Future. Great lunacy fun.
The third episode, the Underworld one, is an episode I previously reviewed.
The Deadline at Noon ep is the best! DL it now!

Subject: Flash-back Gordon, Again!
Subject: Flash-back Gordon, Again!
Flash Gordon has been portrayed as a 1930s radio, movie serial and feature superhero, a 1950s TV space hero, a 1970s disco hero and even a porn star (Flesh Gordon, 1974). This is the TV space hero version and perhaps the very worst - which might make it the best!
For reasons known only to the producers, this version was filmed in post WWII Germany using three Americans as the lead characters of Flash, Dale and Dr. Zarkov with the rest of the parts filled in by local German performers. The Berliner approach to early TV programming gives the whole production a very "Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" feel.
This time around the famous characters are cast in a UN style role as members of the Galaxy Berea of Investigation, rocketing around the universe unseating dictators and protecting our galaxy from attack.
Brought to the USA by the infamous DuMont Television Network, this version of Flash is for True Believers only. Sci-Fi aficionados will recognize several familiar plot lines; every one else should watch it with the windows open because it's a real stinker!
